For the fifth year in a row, I was provided the opportunity to travel and shoot promotional photos for Ontario University Athletics. The task involved shooting between five and eight players at 11 schools over the course of six days. It was an awesome journey, working with the athletes, Sports Information Directors, OUA staff and of course Chad and Matt from Lot 59 Productions (www.lot59.ca).
The goal was to provide photos that would allow each team with similar lighting and set up. This allows the OUA to combine almost any of the images for their needs. Windsor versus Ottawa – never a problem as they look like they were shot together on the same day in the same facility. This means that there was a lot of repetition at each of the photo shoots but, there was always time at the end for a little something different and the team or in the case of some schools ‘family’ photos can be quite creative. More importantly, the personalities of these often lively young men come to the forefront within a few minutes.
Again it was a great experience, with a great crew and awesome athletes.
The OUA recently released their E-magazine (http://issuu.com/ontariouniversityathletics/docs/2014_oua_uncovered/0 ) and published a number of my photos.
Here are some selects from the magazine:
